MSCC Draft House Slot Car Challenge

Where? When? Sunday, February 27th at the Draft House, Verona; 11 am to 6 pm.

This is our annual Madison Sports Car Club – February Slot Car social event to occupy our time these cold dark winter days before our 2022 Autocross and Wheel-to-Wheel seasons get underway. The Draft House in Verona is again our host for this fun social event – great food and drink! Friends and family welcome to come join us and race.

Masks and Covid-19 vaccinations as required by our host, the Draft House and as mandated by Dane County, Wisconsin.

Bring your 1/32nd home race set scale slot cars!
Head-to-head 4-lane racing on a new 16×6’ Scalextric track design with brand new computer timing and scoring race management system.
A few loaner ‘out of the box’ Scalextric/Club Racing slot cars will be available for if you don’t have a car. Sorry no ‘Pro-Racing’ loaner cars available.
1/32nd scale Scalextric, SCX, Slot It, Fly, NSR or other home race set compatible slot cars. One downforce magnet only, subject to Magnet Marshal scrutineering; your choice of tires.

Specifics: Open to club members, family and friends of Madison Sports Car Club – No Entry Free – Food and Drink Extra
1/32nd Scale Slot Cars – new 4-lane circuit – Two big races with multiple classes…just like IMSA!
Pro-Racing – NSR, Racer Sideways, Slot-It or similar competition slot cars (maximum downforce 360 grams)
Scalextric/Club – out of the box/unmodified Scalextric or similar home racing slot cars (Ford GTs to Mini’s)
Bring and race your 1/32 scale analog Slot Cars!” Note: Carrera and SCX cars will need a smaller Slot Guide Flag
Rules: one downforce magnet; OK to add weight; tire compound open; see attached rules for details.
Schedule: 11:00 am – Track setup
11:15 am – Registration and Tech Inspection open.
11:45 am – Practice – Pro-Racing (as soon as track is ready).
12:30 pm – GREEN FLAG – Pro-Racing support race (3 classes)
with Awards Presentation after the race.
1:30 pm – Welcome. Registration and Tech Inspection closed.
1:45 pm – Practice – Club/Scalextric Class following Pro-Race.
2:30 pm – GREEN FLAG – Club/Scalextric feature race (5 classes).
5:30 pm – Awards following Club/Scalextric race; tear down.
Racetrack 4-lane Scalextric racecourse – lap distance is 35 feet.
Procedure: Controllers – Parma (provided) or bring your Professor Motor PMTR. Track voltage tentatively set at 12.0 volts.
Drivers must register and car tech inspection done before race start so driver can be entered into computer.
No qualifying – computer race management system assigns drivers to each lane.
4-timed heats. Each heat is 2½ minutes. Drivers will race all four lanes for a total race length of 10 minutes.
Heat time will not be stopped unless there is a major incident/mayday or a car breaks.
Scoring is by total number of laps completed. Driver with greatest number of completed laps is declared the winner!
